I'm a physician-scientist, island-born, Dominican-American from Queens, NY.
I'm an avid reader, world traveler and am obsessed with anything outdoors--backpacking, camping, hiking, among other things.

RESEARCH
As a Cancer Epidemiologist, I study the link between energy balance and cancer risk & outcomes among people of color.
I use an equity lens to understand how structural discrimination impacts people's ability to engage in healthy behaviors and increases disparities in cancer.
SERVICE
Mentoring future physician-scientists of color is at my core.
I hold leadership roles in professional societies and non-profit organizations aimed at diversifying the academic medicine.
My research extends across the cancer continuum, from cancer prevention to survivorship, and incorporates multidisciplinary research approaches in medicine, epidemiology and the social sciences.
